As Erwin puts it, “this was a special shipment as well”. Our loyal client from the maritime industry connected us with their customer, who needed to transport a newly built boat from Louisiana to New York. The vessel was 48 feet long, 14.8 feet wide, 10.7 feet high, and weighed a significant 35,000 pounds. The destination, New York, presented a unique set of difficulties due to its intricate street system, requiring special coordination.
The Challenge: Planning and Precision
The project began a month and a half before the actual transport. Erwin’s team constantly followed up to confirm the final date and get authorization to begin planning. One of the most critical aspects was securing the necessary permits and ensuring comprehensive insurance coverage. With a declared value of $300,000, the insurance had to be perfect. As Erwin explained, “we did everything we could to make the insurance coverage happen”.
The Execution: A Seamless Transport
Once the client gave the green light, the team moved swiftly. “We picked up the boat on Friday and delivered it flawlessly on a Monday,” says Erwin. The entire transportation “was done well, without problems,” a direct result of the meticulous preparation and attention to detail.
