This project, managed by our freight broker Joe Loarca, required meticulous planning, quick thinking, and perfect execution to deliver a supercargo safely across multiple states.
The Preparation
First and foremost, before even hitting the road, we took crucial steps to ensure a smooth operation.
- Specifically, we confirmed all necessary permits, escorts (referenced as “trucos de bolsa”), and route service.
- In fact, we used three different route services to traverse Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Iowa.
- Ultimately, everything was confirmed to be ready to go.
The Route and the Challenge
Our journey then took us through Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Iowa. However, a minor snag initially arose in Missouri. It involved a slight route deviation for the supercargo permit. The challenge was twofold:
- To begin with, the deviation was needed due to construction on site.
- In addition, we had to adjust the route because of power cables that were on the road.
Consequently, we quickly employed the supercargo tool to “slide” the route and ensure we wouldn’t face any problems during transit. Nevertheless, this minor “slip” did not stop us.
Execution and Solution
Once all the necessary paperwork and escorts were secured, we were able to cross state lines without any trouble.
Yet, a second, more immediate challenge appeared as soon as we picked up the load in Texas. We noticed the bags being used were incorrect for securing the cargo. Our response was swift.
- Immediately, we went to the store to get the correct safety bags.
- Furthermore, we sent photos of the correct securement to the client.
As a result, the client was very happy, and we consequently continued the transit.
The Takeaway
