- Route: Saskatoon, Canada → Oregon, USA

- Outcome: Crossed the border on time, with a very relieved client

When It All Goes Sideways, We Step In
At STT Logistics Group, we’re used to tight turnarounds—but this one came with a few more challenges including snow, border logistics, and a little bit of chaos.
The client called us on a Thursday with an urgent issue: he needed to move three large off-road trucks out of Saskatoon, Canada and into the U.S. by Monday. The problem? His original logistics provider had sent the wrong equipment—a 48-foot flatbed trailer instead of the required 53-footer. That’s five crucial feet
With just one day to recover the job, there was no room for error.

Weather Warnings and Roadblocks
As our team scrambled to find the correct trailer and dispatch, things got even more complicated. A major snowstorm swept through the Saskatoon area, clogging roads, delaying traffic, and making access to the pickup location practically impossible.
Still, our broker and dispatch team didn’t flinch. We stayed in close contact with the client and rerouted our equipment as needed. We also coordinated with drivers who knew the terrain well.
The trucks were due for pickup by 2:00 PM—but due to the snow, we didn’t get there until 3:00. Even so, we made it work.

From Canada to the U.S.—Smooth Border Crossing for This Oversized Load
With the off-road trucks safely loaded, the convoy rolled out toward Oregon, scheduled to cross the U.S. border on Monday. Thanks to proactive planning and a driver experienced in heavy equipment transport jobs, all customs documentation and vehicle data were in place before the weekend.
“We didn’t have much time, and the snow made it even tougher—but that’s exactly when we show what we’re made of,” said Alejandro. The client needed a solution, not excuses—and we delivered.”
Despite the weather, the wrong trailer mix-up, and a last-minute start, the trucks were delivered on time—and the client couldn’t believe we pulled it off.
