Today, we’re excited to share the story of how our team members, Rod Garcia and Alex Willemsen, successfully delivered a Diamond Z 1463B tub grinder, from Washington to Virginia. This huge machine is designed to handle wood waste, green waste, and other feedstocks that need to be reduced in size for use as compost.
The driver, Brandon from B & A TRANSPORTATION LLC, had to travel a distance of 2,850 miles using the Power Only service with a 4-axle Semi Truck because the machine’s weight is 110,000 lbs. During the transportation some complications arose in which the tires were bursting one by one due to the weight of the machine and the long route. Brandon maintained excellent communication, and always alerted about the mechanical problems that arose along the way and letting Rod and Alex able to assist him by finding assistance along the way and keeping an eye on it.
After a week and a half on the road, the load was delivered with 10 of the 12 tires changed and with a couple of mechanical tweaks but everything in perfect condition, but most importantly, leaving behind a satisfied customer.
